3e Channel Idents – ‘Metamorphose’
This suite of 3e channel idents is called “Metamorphose” and were created for the 2017 re-launch of the Irish terrestrial TV station. The concept is born from the idea that the channel is complex, containing multitudes of layers, which can take many forms. Each ident shows the inner layers bursting out from within the ‘3e’, engulfing the structure until the ‘metamorphose’ is complete. In this way, the channel is constantly re-invented, refreshed and born again; An approach that was fitting with the personality of the channel as it re-launched.

The erupting layers and can take an infinite number of forms, allowing the concept to have expansive properties and evolutionary possibilities for future creations. The channel re-launched in early 2017 with these first few idents. It was important to us that each ident work as a standalone piece, but also as part of the whole. To ensure their individuality, a bespoke soundscape was created for each ident by Waveform Studios, Dublin. They are entitled ‘Geometry’, ‘Outburst’, ‘Juice’ and ‘Fur’ (in order of appearance).
